A member asked:

There is a lot of press about the importance of antioxident vitamins. are they really important? if so what should i look for in a vitamin formula?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: I've followed these for 40 years. Despite all the hoopla and selective reporting of studies, the best big studies of anti-oxidants for prolonging life / preventing disease / slowing aging have been major disappointments. I do not know any physician who's still taking them, though many of us did during the 1970's and 1980's. I'd welcome thoughts from other healthtap physicians.
