Very Similar: Cluster and migraine seem to have a vascular component that starts them off whereas the tension type headaches are triggered by muscle overactivity. Surprisingly, the treatments for all of these headaches are quite similar with the tension-type headache's treatment more directed at muscle tension. Prevention is generally the most successful way to deal with any headache.

They are different : Migraine is considered to be a nuerologic disorder with episodic presentation. It is thought that people with migraine have a more sensitive brain than others. It used be thought that migraines were a vascular disorder but science has disproven that theory. Cluuster headache is known as an autonomic cephelalgia probably related to a different part of the brain than migraine.
