NSAID : Pleurisy is a problem of inflammation around the lung . It can be really painful especially with full breaths. The goal of treatment is aimed at reducing the inflammation. Medications in this category include the non steroidal anti inflammatory medications like Ibuprofen and aleve (naproxen ) in therapeutic doses and a host of others . If these meds can't be tolerated steroids can be. Used.
