Side effects: Irritability, headache, anxiety, nervousness, sleep disturbance, can decrease appetite, sex issues, nausea and list goes on and on. It is the most activating of the ssri's so like to use it in patients who need that extra boost. Can make migraines worse in some individuals.

It depends.: Adverse effects can be seen with low doses of fluoxetine. The most common are: insomnia, nausea, weakness, headache, diarrhea, loss of appetite, drowsiness, anxiety, tremor, dry mouth, decreased sex drive, sweating, dizziness, ...The list goes on. Adverse effects are not very predictable and at low doses not as probable. Some may occur later in the course of treatment.
