Threatened miscarria: Any spotting or bleeding in early pregnancy is called a threatened miscarriage. It does not mean you will miscarry. Usually the bleeding is from the implantation of the embryo and newly forming placental tissue onto the surface of the uterus. There is no treatment other than waiting to see if it resolves. If the bleeding gets extremely heavy or if you have pelvic pain, evaluation would be needed.
