Yes: Examination is needed to rule out brain bleed if he struck his head. This is potentially a severe problem. At the least he probably has "whiplash" injury, and a course of physical therapy can benefit and prevent a cycle of chronic neck muscle spasm and chronic "muscle tension" headaches.
