Team work: Dentist is 1st stop to eliminate infection (cavities) and possibly periodontist if gums infected. Then dentist will refer you to orthodontist and possibly oral surgeon to create best platform on which to do restorative treatment. After braces off dentist will do the final restorative magic. It's a well orchestrated ballet.
