Great! You got seen.: 1: everyone "has tmj", in fact you have two of them--that's the name of the jaw joint. If you have pain, need to find source: bone, cartilage, nerves, muscles. 2: class 2 bite is an 'overjet' they can lead to excessive wear of the back teeth and increase the risk of obstructive sleep apnea. 3: get braces and surgery consult to correct bad bite while young. 4: can ease most joint pain with splint.

Maybe: A class ii bite does not provide for the proper protection of teeth. You will need to be evaluated by an oral surgeon to see whether orthognathic surgerym is indicated.

Sounds like: Sounds like you have some major occlusal problems, none of which will self-correct. If, as I suspect, an Orthodontic Specialist advised comprehensive treatment for you, thou have 2 choices: 1) Go forward with treatment and expect a lessening of your symptoms, or 2) Don't get your problem fixed, wait for a miracle.

Careful: Your Class 2 bite may or may not have anything to do with your TMJ problem. MAKE SURE your orthodotist is also a TMJ expert. Get another opinion before treatment. You may end up after ortho treatment with the same symptoms. Or worse.
