Choking and Hesdache: You probably suffered a vascular headache brought about by the sudden increased pressure transmitted through the veins overlying your brain as a result of the "valsalva- like" rapid increase in pressure due to the forced pressures during choking. If the headaches don't return, you are in the clear. If they do, i would consult a neurologist just to make sure you don't have an aneurysm forming.

Coughing= culprit : A very bad coughing event can do this. Each cough causes an increase in the venous pressure in ur brain the more prolonged& the more violent the higher the pressure, & more likely 2 cause a ha. If you have frequent ha with minimal cough an evaluation for an avmalformation.
