A member asked:

My 3 weeks baby has a lot of gas problem whenever she sleeps she doesn't close her mouth do u think so it could b a reason for her gas or its formula..

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Gas is normal : Gas is normal. It comes from either swallowing too much air while feeding, or as a products of digestion of the formula. If she is not fussy and is passing gas easily there is no need for treatment. If on the other hand, she is irritable and having difficulty with pain, i suggest you discuss this with your pediatrician. He may recommend gas drops or probiotics. Best of luck, jp.
