Muscle Pain: If this pain is reproducable with movement, then it is most likely muscle-related. The left flank is a strange place for a muscle strain, though. If you've been chopping wood or moving furniture, then i could understand some under-used muscles now being painful. Try some local heat and advil (ibuprofen) to see if those help.
