Could a 'shadow" on an ecg mean cancer?

No, absolutely not!: Ecg is not a good tool to detect cancer. So, relax...

ECG: The only shadows on an ECG are cast by the light behind the head of the reader. There is nothing on an ECG which means cancer.

No: Ecg only describes the behavior of the heart. Rarely some cancers can indirectly affect the heart rhythm or behavior and this can be detected. While trying to figure out why the heart is behaving that way you could investigate and find the cause to b cancer, but this is extrapolating and would b uncommon.

Doctors sometimes : Talk too fast (or patients hear too slow?). The "shadow" euphemism used to be used as a soft blow about a chest x-ray showing a mass. Shadow conoted a white mass on a dark background of "normal" lung. Ekg's display specific waves: p, q, r, s and t, and depict patterns, rate, and rhythm - shadow does not fit in that picture. Bet you misheard; he mispoke.
