How do i transfer breast fed infant to formula?

If you must: If baby smells you he/she may resist the bottle but dad or others may be able to get a hungry baby to suck down some formula.Some substitute one feeding/day then 2, 3 etc as slowly or as fast as you both can do it. Some can do a radicle switch to total formula but i avoid that unless an urgent issue came up, the stress for both is tremendous. Good luck.

It is best to continue breastfeeding for at least one year or longer. Breastfeeding provides many benefits to the infant as well as to the mother.

Cold turkey or ...: You can try cold turkey and see how the baby likes the formula, if does than continue. If not, then start with 1/4 formula 3/4 breast milk in a bottle, and over the next few days go to 2/4 then 1/4 and then full formula. Most infants are pretty tolerant of the changes. If having problems, see your baby's pediatrician.
