Mesothelioma: Type of cancer arising from the mesothelial lining (mesothelium) of the lung or other organs lined by mesothelium. Commonly associated with asbestos exposure and smoking. Not too many treatment options unlike non small cell lung cancer. Most patients develop shortness of breath and recurrent pleural effusions as presenting symptom. Treatment is sometimes surgery but usually chemotherapy.
