How long do the enzymes that break down alcohol stay in your system for?

The enzymes remain: Its the alcohol that breaks down. The enzyme called alcohol dehydrogenase is located in your liver. As the blood flows thru the liver it is filtered and the enzymes act on the alcohol and break it down. The kidneys then get rid of the byproducts.
