Sepsis: Sepsis is a clinical diagnosis that is made based on a number of laboratory and non-laboratory parameters. In practice, there is not one lab alone that says a patient has a sepsis syndrome.

None: There is no diagnostic test that risk stratifies a person for sepsis. Sepsis is a serious infection that can get into your blood system and is ultimately diagnosed with a total clinical assessment/picture including lab work and blood cultures.
