Pain usually: Means inflammation. Breast lumps can enlarge suddenly causing pain. Or they can get infected, causing pain. Also inflammatory cancer is possible. A physician exam, mammogram, ultrasound, or even needle aspiration might be necessary. Don't delay, breast cancer is always a possibility.
