Wetness aggrivates: Sitting in a wet diaper for a long time can soften the skin & allow it to break down more easily. The actual agent of the yeast rash is the yeast itself that makes up at least 5% of the weight of your poo. Add the two together & rashes are part of wearing diapers.Various barrier creams like petrolium gelly or a&d ointment can help avoid rashes.

Yes: Yeast thrives on moisture and heat, both conditions found on a baby sitting in a wet diaper to long. Also skin that is already irritated is more prone to yeast. Other things to consider is what else could be contributing to the irritation. Is the skin reacting to the diaper or the chemicals in the wipes?
