A member asked:

38 yr. marriage. one child. extremely infrequent intercourse. very painful sex w/blood. gynecologist states episiotomy to blame. any options for me?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Assuming it is not: From atrophic vaginitis which means vaginal thinning due to lack of estrogen in the vaginal tissue - that can cause all of your symptoms, and can be treated with low dose vaginal estrogen like Estrace (estradiol) cream, if it is really from episiotomy which is possible but not likely, the episiotomy can be redone with a minor surgery, you should go for a 2nd opinion before u would have that type of surgery.
