Its OK: A normal afi is 10-20cm. So 8.5 is a little low. It is not too low and not alarming. Most obs are reassured if the deepest pocket is greater than 2cm or the total is between 10-20cm. You should keep up with daily fetal well being by doing kick counts and most obs would recommend another ultrasound, like a biophysical profile in one week. It may help to limit activity and increase your fluids.
