Ovulation: Every now and then a woman will spot mid cycle which is the time of ovulation. This is because the hormones change at ovulation and sometimes the lining of the uterus isn't as well supported hormonally. If spotting continues longer than a few days something else may be the cause. If the last period was normal it is unlikely to be pregnancy.
