What is the diagnosis of metaplasia of a pap smear is indicative of?

Fairly normal: This a normal regenerative process that nearly every woman has in their cervix (transformation zone). If infected by hpv these cells can progress to precancerous cells. So getting routine pap smears is important to detect hpv infected precancerous cells before a cancer develops.
