I have to go get a heart capator done . they think i may have a blockage in my heart. how risky is the process , and what mite they do?

Catheterization: Very safe. Takes 20 minutes. Risk of a serious complication is 0.1%. If they find blockage, they might dilate the blockage and put in a stent. If it's very complicated, they may talk with you afterwards about considering surgery. If it's mild, you may need nothing but some medicine. Good luck. Remember, a million are done in the usa each year. You have company!

Catheterization: You are referring to a catheterization and coronary arteriography. A small tube is introduced into your artery system and passed to the heart where measurements and dye injections are made. The dye is visualized inside the heart on xray flouroscopic machines and recorded digitally. The risks are low.
