Tough to tell: Sinuses are cavities within the bone. To "puff out the face" would require a growing tumor. A swelling in the area of the sinus could be a cyst or dental access. Amox will help a dental abscess but have no effect on cysts or tumors. Most sinus infections are viral in origin, some fungal. In which case, amox won't help if it is a sinus infection. See your doc for an exam.

Need to open sinuses: If your problem is not dental or tooth related...Then even tho you are on an antibiotic..You need to open your sinuses and get the liquid in there flowing out. Try any sinus meds that works for you. Check with the pharmacist. And it might take several rounds of antibiotics and sinus meds. Watch the meth making if you buy lots of sinus meds. Try Coricidin hbp. Works for me.
