Repeat the bllod tes: A WBC count of over 10, 000 is usually not normal for a healthy person. I would ask your doctor to first recheck it as lab errors are the commonest cause of abnoraml results in a well person. If you have/had any recent infection that is the common cause of high WBC but there are blood disorders that need to be looked for if the WBC count is high or higher when rechecked.

See below...: A common cause of increased WBC is represented by infectious/inflammatory conditions; however, other clinical associations are possible including more serious diseases like leukemia. It is important to know what type of cell causes the increased wbc. Is it because of an increase in neutrophils or lymphocytes? A CBC with differential and morphology would be a reasonable next step.
