TMJ syndrome? : The temporal mandubilar joint can be inflammed and irritated producing a sensation of what you are describing. Other potential causes can be an irritation to the mastoid bone or mastoiditis. Have your primary take a look if it has not self resolved. Antinflammatories like Ibuprofen can help with symptoms.

Bruxism: The dizziness can be related. Eat a soft diet and take anti inflammatory medication like Motrin for a week. If symptoms persist, you may need a few days of a low dose muscle relaxant. Consider getting a bite guard made by your dentist as nighttime teeth grinding can cause this.
