Not usually: Most of my patients do very well after carpal tunnel surgery and recover rapidly. Therapy is rarely necessary. However, some of my older patients seem to benefit from a few weeks of therapy, especially those who develop significant postoperative swelling or stiffness.

Not usually: Will depend on what type of technique is used. Therapy is less likely with endoscopic technique, but may not even be necessary with open surgery.
