What's the name of the surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome?

Median nerve release: Carpal tunnel surgery can be done endoscopically (through a camera inserted in a small incision) or open (standard surgery exposing the internal anatomy). Basically, it is a median nerve release but cutting the carpal ligament which holds down the nerve. The median nerve is one of the 3 major nerves running through the wrist. When this nerve is compressed, it causes carpal tunnel syndrome.

CTR: It is called a carpal tunnel release. This procedure can be performed with a typical open approach using an incision down the palm or endoscopic technique. It is critical to make sure your surgeon is well experienced in minimally invasive surgery to minimize risk of injuries if choosing an endoscopic approach
