VV AND PERIOD: Varicose veins are due to malfunctioning (refluxing) veins of usually the saphenous system of veins and are most commonly related to genetics and pregnancies. There is no relationship between varicose veins and your menstrual period. Questions about your menstrual period should be directed to your gynecologist and you should see a vein specialist for your veins.
