Increased uptake: This means there is increased uptake of the radioactive dye at an area other than a joint. Articular implies joint. Increased uptake is often seen where there is new bone formation (osteoblastic). A fracture is a prime example.

Increased uptake: Osteoblastic is term for new bone formation usually describing radiographic appearance. Translated to bone scan this means increased uptake which can be bone repair of infection, fracture, or tumor. Bone scans are very sensitive to bone turnover but not specific. Some primary bone tumors are osteoblastic in that they form bone. Nonarticular means focus of uptake away from a joint.
