It also makes you eat more and to become somewhat indiscreet in eating items(like sweets) which do not help in weight control which is the key to keep a good control over your sugar, .

DM 2: Alcohol consumption taken in moderation does not elevate blood sugar. Alcoholics tend to deminish food intake when drunk thereby affecting metabolism and dm2 causing hypoglycemia.
