A member asked:

I had an ultrasound done near my chest, stomach, and throat, would this have shown an aortic anuyurism or any other heart problems? had done in nov.

Aneurysm : It is probable that this test would have identified aortic aneurysm if it was present. If they spefically looked at your heart they can tell structural and functional problems by echocardiography.

Heart ultrasound?: Do you mean a heart ultrasound, otherwise called echocardiogram? That can show on aortic aneurysm but it does not look at the whole aorta so can miss some cases.

Ultrasound: Ultrasound exams are area specific. If you had a neck/throat ultrasound, it wouldn't show anything in the chest(aneurysm/heart). If you had a cardiac echo, it would show the aorta and the heart but not stomach or neck. You'll need to ask your doc for the specific information that concerns you.
