Definitely, yes: Alcohol dilates blood vessels and works as a diuretic (increases fluid loss). These 2 factors can lead to drop in blood pressure which can cause fainting. In addition, it can induce abnormal heart rhythms, and especially with high intake over time, can lead to weak heart muscle. Black outs can occur from the neurological effect of alcohol, too.
