Yes your doctor shou: You must inform the doctor, so that he/she can make some adjustments. The heartburn can be easily controlled with maalox or you can get hold of some Pepcid (famotidine) or zantac(least expensive). Prilosec is even more effective for heartburn but it costs a bit more.
