Shortness of breath: Is common as pregnancy advances: the enlarging uterus pushes upwards against the diaphragm preventing its full range of motion. Relatively rapid weight gain also taxes your system. Experts recommend continuing to exercise (walk, ride bike, swim); just pause when too short of breath. Exercise seems to help breathing mechanisms work more efficiently.
