Possibly short-term: An asthma attack may be the immediate & short-term effect of someone who already has asthma inhaling second-hand smoke. Long-term effects from one hour of exposure is very unlikely. So, you had an entire hour; did you convince your friend to quit?

Asthma: Tobacco smoke is an airway irritant and yes could cause worsening of asthma symptoms in the short term. Just as important you are increasing your risk of developing same diseases of smokers-emphysema/chronic obstructive bronchitis/ lung cancers etc.
