Maybe...: When it comes to the human body, there are things that are common, or average, and that is what most people call 'normal'. But there will always be people that fall outside of the average. 6 years old is a little early for permanent teeth to be erupting, but not unheard of. I would see your dentist to get a panoramic x-ray to just check on the development of the rest of your child's teeth.

Absolutely: By age 6, you can expect to begin losing the 8 front teeth and to have gained 1 or more adult molars. The range for the transition from baby ("milk") teeth to adult teeth varies widely. What is more important is the order in which the teeth are lost and/or erupted. Take your child to his/her dentist for an evaluation of the tooth loss sequence and orthodontic evaluation.

A little early: Children start losing baby teeth at 6-7, and all 8 permanent incisors and 4 molars are in by 7-8. The rest take until 11-14 to fully erupt. I would be a little concerned about your child's early accelerated exchange rate. Please have him/her evaluated by a Pediatric Dental Specialist or an Orthodontic Specialist. they are dento-facial growth and development experts.
