A member asked:

Is a t-score of -3.7 osteo in the spine almost at the end of the score chart, and how dangerous is it? it was at -2.5 two years before ooph & meds?

Not a good score: Clearly, your score is worsening. You should seek the help of a physician who takes special interest in treating osteoporosis. Unfortunately, there are multiple specialities that do this. Try looking through the national osteoporosis foundation website, www.Nof.Org, as they have a doc finder function. If you are outside the us, look for a rheumatologist or endocrinologist that has this interest.

Fracture: With a t-score that low, you are at great risk for fracture of your spine and perhaps other bones. You should see a specialist in mineral metabolism. You should receive treatment for your bone loss.

High risk: Well, it certainly qualifies as severe osteoporosis which would put you at high risk for fracture. Of concern, is it is getting worse and not better, so something may need to be done with your medications to reverse the trend. Also, a detailed check to make sure that there is nothing else as yet undiagnosed that may be contributing to your condition. Thank you for your question.
