Weeks-to-months: It takes a long time for the blood to be resorbed after a stroke, and is influenced by many variables (bp, illness, vascular disease, etc.), so not uncommon for it to be still present on a follow up study months later.

To a degree: Bleeding in the brain does resort but blood products - breakdown products of the hemoglobin of blood - can remain. After a brain bleed or a brain stroke changes in the brain persist called encephalomalacia.
