Soon: Gabapentin is not intended as a sleep aid, it is a neurologic medication used for nerve pain and neurologic disorders. Any drugs that affect the brain should be weaned slowly, to minimize side effects such as yours. However if it has been 8 days, your side effects should be nearing their endpoint. Please check with your doc before just stopping this drug.
