Vitiligo and Vision: People with vitiligo may have some abnormalities in their retinas (the inner layer of the eye that contains light-sensitive cells) and some variation of color in their irises (the colored part of the eye). In some cases, there is some inflammation of the retina or iris, but vision is usually not affected.

No: Loss of pigment from the skin (vitiligo) is an autoimmune disorder affecting pigment producing cells called melanocytes. The same disorder does not affect the rods and cones of your eyes which are responsible for your vision.

Maybe: Vitiligo is a loss of pigment from the skin, hair, and /or eyelashes. As long as it is restricted to those, the vision is not affected. Sometimes it is also present in the retina and then it can lead to reduced vision.
