Sciatic pain: I assume you mean sciatic nerve pain. There are lots of potential causes for this but if it has been going on for more than a couple of days i would certainly get in to be evaluated by a good physician.

Sciatic nerve pain: Sciatic nerve pain refers to pain generally from the buttock to the back of the thigh (and sometimes beyond) involving some part of all of that nerve. This can occur from irritation for 1 or more nerve roots coming out of the lumbar spine that give rise to the nerve, or from direct irritation of the sciatic nerve, itself, for example at the piriformis muscle.
