Which IUD?: A common side effect of the Mirena (levonorgestrel) iud is irregular period and unscheduled bleeding. If it was a paragard, do a pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy. Also if you guys have been unable to feel the string and are not sure if the iud is still in place, do a home pregnancy test regardless of which iud and have her gyn take a look. Take care!
