Yes: The heart rhythm can be abnormal even if you are not anxious. Many times there is not a specific cause, it just happens. You need an EKG to see exactly what type of irregular pulse you have.

Need heart monitor: You could have skipped beats called pvcs which is usually not a concern. Sometimes it could be a more setious rhythm problem such as atrial fibrillation. A heart monitor may help to sort it out.
