Go see ReproEndo: If a couple can't conceive after a year of trying, it's time to go see a reproductive endocrinologist to search for male & female causes of this infertility. Extensive testing will be required. Best to start taking pre-natal vitamins while ttc so minimize risk for spinal tube defects.

Still possible: The definition of infertility is one year of unprotected intercourse. With 50% of the causes being due to the female and the other 50% do to the male, you should probably considering seeing your gyn or a fertility specialist to discuss a possible work-up and treatment options.
