Her prolactin levels: Breast feeding maintains high prolactin levels which can completely diminish menses or make them irregular. 2 and 1/2 seems about the upper limit of breast feeding in most minds!

Stop the breast feed: Usually brest feeding is stopped before 2 years of age. After stopping breast feeding, period will be regularised by itself.
