Depression sucks!: Feeling blue, low energy, low joy, changes in eating/sleeping, less social engagement, negative thoughts, irritable & angry..Sound like you? It's likely depression. Meds help but studies show meds+ cognitive-behavioral therapy is almost always better. Either treatment alone is still far better than none. Talk with your doctor, consider asking her/him for a cbt therapist referral.

Quite likely.: Depression is an illness, it does not require a reason, any more than a person has to have a reason to get pneumonia. A big question is, which is more prevalent, being mad or being unhappy? Irritability will often accompany depression; but unhappiness is also a result of chronic irritability. You would do well to seek an evaluation learn which is the primary problem & get a plan to get better.
