Depends: If you forget short acting at bed, don't take that in am. If you forget long-acting such as Lantus (insulin glargine) might be ok to take in am, but then you may want to adjust or delay the next evening's dose. Ask your doctor or diabetes educator what their advice is for you.

Yes: If your bedtime Insulin is lantus, (insulin glargine) take it as soon as you realize you missed a dose. Then take the next dose on schedule. Otherwise it can take several days to return to equilibrium.
