Transaminases: Your liver has probably been injured probably with no cells killed. Your physician will probably repeat these after two weeks off alcohol and rx's, if the transaminases are down, you've gotten your wake-up call that alcohol's a problem or you have a medication allergy. Otherwise you'll be screened for hepatitis, hemochromatosis and a few other treatable things.

Liver enzymes: Liver enzymes elevated. Doesn't necessarily mean anything bad. Who ordered tests. Go to dr. And ask. Review meds, or dietary changes, sometimes infections. Medically we get nervous when they are 3x normal or more. But what meds are you on, did have recent infection? Lab results sometimes are elevated but not dangerous, so need physician to interpret why.

Hepatitis: Elevated, well presumably since you're asking but neglected to mention reference range, lft (liver function tests) are indicative of some type of irritation to or inflammation of the liver, hence hepatitis. Next step is to determine whether it's due to infection, chemicals, abdominal obesity, etc. Talk to your family doc about next steps. Blood testing for viral infection. Review medications.
