Too much: Yes that is too much for a single implant. If the dollar figure is right, then you are not getting the whole story.

Depends: ..On how long ago it was placed. Years ago they were more than they are now. Also there are various types of implants that can be considerably more complex and expensive than the ones that are commonly placed today. If you can provide more details we can probably give you a better perspective but the typical cost now is a fraction of that much.

Have a second opinio: Get another consultation, the cost depends on the type of prosthesis, amount of implants, etc.

No. : No not necessarily. Depending on your particular situation but 10, 000 dollars for one implant sound very high. See a dentist or an implant specialist for proper diagnosis and treatment plan.

Depends: So many questions: was osseous grafting involved, if so what kind? Was there a sinus lift involved? Who did the procedure(s) a properly trained specialist or a properly trained general dentist? Did that amount include any/all additional procedure(s) for the correct support of the implant? I agree with the above; $10k sounds a high, but it may include other things we are not aware of yet.

Cost of implants: I'm in ny and in my area the cost for the implant fixture averages $1800. The cost for the abutment and crown another $2100. Therefore figure around $4, 000 per implant tooth. Bone grafting would add an additional cost. Big city vs. Suburbs; prestigious office vs. Insurance practice and lots of other factors also play a role. Remember, it's expertise, quality and value rather than mere cost.

Situations differ: A dental implant is just part of the equation. The dental implant is the "new" root for the artificial tooth. What was the implant(s) used for? A single tooth or to help retain a denture or part of several missing teeth replacement bridge? Was the treatment done in mi rural or urban or was he treated in nyc or la? A dollar amount without all the facts makes a truthful answer nearly impossible!

5 - 6 K more likely.: Two fees are associated with dental implant reconstruction. Surgical fee: can include extraction, graft, implant placement. Restorative fee: can include abutment and crown.I am a specialist ANS work with specialists. Even if you had the most done, it would not add up to that amount. However, if bmp used, it might add 3k and could approach that #, as it is often associated with sinus grafting.
